After earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering, I spent a few years working in the aerospace industry for Cessna Aircraft and BAE Systems. Looking for something more impactful, I joined the Navy as a nuclear submarine officer, and served for about 7 1/2 years of active duty. Once out of the Navy I worked as an operations manager for a medical device company in Utah.
That's when I got bit by the entrepreneurial bug. I started a small CNC machine shop, as well as a custom awning manufacturing company. I ended up selling the machine shop in order to shift my focus to other projects. Running both of those companies has been a great experience, and has really taught me what it takes to run a small business.
I love helping people and teams grow and achieve more. As I look back at my career, at basically every stop I ended up in charge of the organizations training and continuous improvement programs. There are few things I love more than helping people understand new concepts that can improve their lives from either a personal or professional standpoint.
